Need Palmas ID.... INF!! ;)

I picked up this polypterus last weekend, and I've been waiting for it to settle in before snapping some shots for ID.

She was really skinny when I bought her... to the point of having a concave belly!!

But with some healthy servings of frozen krill, she's now has a solid belly, although I'd still like her to be fatter.

I'm not sure if it's because she's skinny, but her head looks big! Is it possible she's a retro?

I'm not sure which palmas it is. I don't think it's polli, I'm leanings towards palmas palmas.... help?

your suspicion was right, it's a retropinnis (aka zaire green). looks like its been feeding well hard to tell if its too skinny, it could be but it should fatten up a bit soon as long as it keeps eating the way it is... they are a naturally skinny species, so it won't get too fat on you

deffinately need to fatten that guy up! maybe get some darker decor to bring out the green in him.

Wow so she is a retro! Sweeet!

I'm debating on whether or not to mix in some tahitian moon sand with my current sand.

I don't want all black though, because I don't like what it does to the color of polypterus (brings out green, but darkens the pattern too much).

Oh, well its up to you, i personally like the darkened pattern, but many prefure it lighter.....i guess i'm just a dark guy.
