am doing some sort of a species guide for captive gar specimens, and want to use some members pics for the guide. do send them in regardless of quality! if i do use them, you will be notified and credited in the guide.

You have permission to use any of my pictures of gars.

My Florida gar is about 12", and the longnose gar that's in some of the pictures with it was 10" before I sent it to Madding. The other two longnose gars are between 10" and 14" in the pictures that I have posted. They are currently over 18" according to my parents, and I hope to have new pictures of them up before the end of next month.

I don't know how old the Florida gar is, but I believe that it's not a YOY gar because it appears that it lost it's tail filament some time ago. The longnose gars are all from this year; I have reasonably detailed records of their growth since I got them in June.
