Need pics on how to sex bichirs

Hey people,

I currently have two birchirs one is a senegal and the other a endlicheri in future i would like to get an oppisite sex to either of these, i was just wondering if someone could be so kind to put up some pics to show how to tell whether they are male or female as far as i know the male has a wider anal fin but i have nothing to compare to.

Here are some pics but they're not that great its the best i could do with out pulling them out of the tank.

If someones got pics of a male and a female please share as I havent got a clue

how big are the two fish? the senegal can be sexed starting at around 6"-7", whereas the endlicheri would need to be around 13" or so. your endlicheri looks like it might be big enough, and if it is, i'd say its a female.

Here's one of my 18" endlis. Even with his anal fin partly obscured, you can tell by the size of the peduncle (insertion point of the fin structure into the fish's body) that it's a definite male:

Here's an 18" female broken-saddle endli. Note that anal fin has less than half the peduncle mass of the male's fin.

You sex them the same way male anal fins are bigger than the females
