I've been using standard kitchen scissors to trim my plants... and now my wife wants me to stop shoving her kitchen tools into my fishtanks. I've been looking for long (30 inches maybe?) plant trimmers. Only thing I've found like what I want is a dental surgery tool costing $100+. $30 or less and my wife won't have a coronary embolism. Can you guys help me find a nice stainless steel pair of trimming scissors?

Heres a quick shot of the 26g bowfront I just took. The algae on the back and the cave thing on the right is for the mollies to eat. They graze on it all day. As you can see, the Bananas and the Undulata need a trim... badly.

Yes, the red gravel and the coral-themed background on a freshwater tank look deet-dee-dee, but it was my 1st tank, and also the wifeys idea.

Stainless steel scissors under $30... easy.

30" long stainless steel scissors... extremely unlikely.

+1
Drs Foster & Smith sell stainless steel scissors, but 30" may be hard to find. Petsmart sell a 'grabber' that has interchangeable ends, one of which is supposed to be a trimming tool (only tried to use it once and found it difficult to position for a clean cut).

Petco came out with long armed scissor/plier combo. (Interchangable)

Its made of plastic but i've using them and they are pretty handy.

They were either 11.99 or 12.99.

I bought a nice set of stainless steel aquascaping tools on eBay for like $30. Came with two scissors (curved and straight tip) two tweezers (different tips as well) and some sort of substrate smoothing tool I'm still figuring out. :D

I use to use Severums. I have the clipper/pliers combo from petsmart. I really like it, works well and folds in half for easy storage. The plier attachment gets used to feed my boa as well. It grips rat tails very good!

Sounds like the petsmart ones actually work then? Thanks guys/gals.

Those scissors worked great. Thanks guys!
