so in my welding class, i am completely done with my projects. and the perk to that is i get to do a personal project. so i need some ideas to build a pond out of petal, and wood if i need to put wood in the build. im looking for something somewhat large, and would be an outside pond for my cats over the summer. so size is only too large if it isn't reasonable on price. my dad works for a sheet metal shop, so he can get me whatever i need. all i need is a plan, and a layout. so lay it out for me. what im thinking right now is along the lines of 8-10ftx3-4ftx3-4ft (LxWxD). also i would need to know what size stock i would need to use. this is my first build, so some experienced help is needed, and much appreciated. but down to the part that i need criticized.
i was going to use 3/16" angle stock as the frame. and not sure as to use to cover the sides. if i should do plywood. or metal. if i do plywood. i would prolly do a 6'x6'x3' (LxWxH) instead. as i don't know many pieces of plywood 10' long lol. but this pond is like i said an outdoor summer pond for my catfish (TSN, niger, achara, and bull head) this will allow them to grow out more, while i plan a plywood tank build inside for them.
i will add to this thread as i think of stuff, but i just want to get the idea out there, as i have 2 months still with access to a welding shop for the frame of this build till August. thank you for reading, and please, give me any ideas, i need them.
it doesn't have to be pretty either. i want it to be functional. and the cosmetics will be dealt with when that pond is built.
