I was running 2 quietone 16000 pumps on my indoor 1500gal pond.... unfortunately somehow they both stopped working at the same time. One wont pump at all the other does for about 15min than turns off. So now I need new pumps. Id like to have at least 10k gal total flow so 5k each. It only needs to be able to deal with about 5ft of head height. I also dont want to be spending a ton of money. So preferably $250 or less a pump. Any help would be great, I have a few big cats who arent to happy about the lack of filtration.

Before u waste ur $$$ did you take apart the whole thing? How often do you clean it? My pump went out before, I took it apart I just had a clog. also it happened again the suction part on the motor broke and (it was sturdy plastic I'll try to get pics) costed me $10+ with extras if it happens again

It sounds like it might be a thermal overload. Do you have the intake or output restricted in any way?

Here is the service instructions if you don't have them http://www.lifegardaquatics.com/pdfs/Quiet-One9000-16000SG.pdf

also you can get a single pump that can do 10k like a reefflo

You may want to clean the impeller of your pump and see if that helps. Does your impeller rotate when you do it manually?

I had bad experiences with quite one pump. I had two 4000 pumps that failed during warranty, I sent it in and they said I am supposed to apply a silicon based lubricant to the impeller every 6-8 months. Since I did not do that, the warranty is void. Cause of pump failure? The impeller stopped spinning causing the pump to overheat and failed.

How many of you guys with big tanks would shut down and lubricate your pumps every 6-8 months? I don't, I have used rio and mag drives for years and I never had to touch them.

I was impressed with the low wattage on the Quiet one pumps... but I can' use their warranty. I had 2 out of 4 pumps failed within their first year of their 2 yrs warranty. No more quiet one pumps for me.

I did take them apart. The one that doesn't work seams to have no problem with the impeller. Took it apart no problems. The motor makes a beeping noise so I think it may be toast. Nit sure on the other sense it's still hooked up. It runs for about 30min than shuts off. Idk thing sucks. Nether of them have any clogs and they have only been running sense December when I built this. I'm thinking of getting just one pump rated at 8800gph and pluming both bulkheads into it. Than later when I have more free cash (just bought a new place) I'll buy a second and have over 17k gph.

I got a supreme hy-drive which I really like its quiet and wasn't that expensive I think it was around $250
