My cat got into fish cabinet and unplugged my return pump. That was off all night and now I have 1ppm ammonia I dosed with prime to hopefully detoxic the ammonia and have a 2gph dripper going. How long does it take for that ammonia to go away now that the pump is up and running and dripper going?

It's not easy to say, even if we knew your stocking levels and the amount of filtration you are running.

If the same happened to me I would be confident of the ammonia subsiding quite quickly, but only because I know my system very well.

One thing's for sure though, your prime addition and drip will help considerably in the meantime, and at the end of the day 1.0ppm ammonia is not good, but it's not exactly really really bad either.

I think you're on the right track, just keep your eye on things.

And alter your cabinet so the cat can't get in!!
