i just started my new saltwater and its ready to go. I just got back from my lps and i have a couple of new fish. do i have to do any thing special before introducing them into my tank?

Hopefully you cycled the tank or at least have only a couple of hardy fish. Just add them to the tank, I float the opened bag for about twenty minutes and replace about 1/2 the water with tank water around ten minutes into it. Unfortunatly this is with FW fish, I have kept very few SW and those were tough tidepool locals.

Saltwater fish need to be dripped.Use a piece of airline tubing.Put one end in the tank with a knot in the tubing,put the other end in a container,with fish and water from bag .Ajust knot accordingly so water drips slowly into container.Don't rush drip.About 30 minutes should be good.

I agree with the above listed answers, Need a little more info to give a better answer;

WHat size tank is it?
What type of filtration do you have?
Is the tank fully cycled and if so, what was the method?
What kind of fish did you buy and how many?
Have you tested your water and so what are it's parameters (ph,amonia, trite, trate & s.g.)
FLoating the bag to equal temperatures and then slowly adding water from your aquarium to the water the fish were sent home in is a better method of acclimation (as was suggested above) To add to that, I would suggest adding the fish only when done (don't add water that contains "pet shops" water to your tank).

ANswer the questions above and and we'll get a more thorough answer for you....Joel

Although your opinion to research / learn before you buy fish is the right way of thinking, you could have (and should have) been less insulting about it......
