I haven't posted in a while, and not sure if this is the right area to be posting this, but I was wondering if people would like to share their fish food recipes?
general flake, vegtable based sinking food, and possibly if anyone makes a type of sinking carnivore pellet for their big cats or bichirs.
any ideas or shared info would be greatly appreciated

ok got some time.

this is my general for almost all fish

1 cup beef heart cleand and trimmed of all fat
1 cup shrimp with shell removed unless the shell is very soft
half cup pumpkin small cubes
half cup carrots small cubes
2 cloves of garlic
half cup spinich / or if you have spirulina powerder 3 table spoons
i pack of instant gelatin

now you can blanch all of the ingredients in hot water first but i leave them raw because i keep mine in the freezer once i am done making it.
get an old blender cause this will be messy (note none of this is supposed to be smelly in any way everything should be fresh ).
blend everything one at a time then mix in a large bowl. follow the gelatin direction than add to your mix.
i use old ice trays to pour my mix into so i can just freeze them then take them out of the trays and put them in ziplock bags.
once i am ready to feed pop a block out the freezer let it thaw a bit then just feed as you need.

note with thses types of food please avoid over feeding and excess waste.

i have other reipies but they are more specialised for various fish specis that i developed some of the ingredients can be hard to get. eg fresh red snapper eggs.
i go fishing alot so i get this when we catch fish. i sue this for raising younger fish they really grow with this stuff.

please pm me if you want more specific recipies i have for carnivors , herbivors, fry, and discus

I'd really appreciate your carnivore recipe. I have 2 very large sawside catfish, and the hikari sinking pelletts is just getting too expensie to keep buying for them. I supplement with cut up raw chicken and nightcrawlers, and sometimes cocktail shrimp, but I would like something else to feed them.
