We are going to be on the road in 6 hours for Dallas and I want to know what local fish stores are good to stop at while we are there. We will be in town on the north side but it's not that hard to drive the metro down there.

Please recommend some LFS - or tell me to stay from them.. I am specifically looking for SA/CA fish, flowerhorn, hybrids and stores that get trades - but I am also on the lookout for some africans and community types too. No saltwater please.

Can't tell ya anywhere in Dallas but there's a small place in Haltom city/Keller called Keller Farms, on 377 in the north Fort Worth area. They take trades and even though its a pretty small store I'm a fan.

Just in case you don't know the area, its only about 30 mins away from Dallas....

I have considered that one, I wasn't sure if they would have the stock I was interested in but for now its on the list.

I also am considering Dallas North and Aquarium Tradiin Co, not sure what they carry though..

Don't know much about DNA, my tank is from there but I actually got it from Craigslist list, I'm sure they are a bit more commercial.

fish gallery off of greenville, dallas north aquarium.

These were the two we ended up going to, we didn't have the time to get over to Keller Farms, and when I called Aquarium Trading Co it appears they no longer exist.

I will be nice here and say only this - I'm disappointed.

I did see a couple I was interested in, but they were 3 times the price they were worth and a good 60% over the maximum I would pay. Out of curiosity how long they had been there to judge whether the market price was that high due to the demand, the response was, "months" given with a slight eye roll. I offered my price and was told that was about what they had paid for them. Well? They aren't selling anyhow.

I'm still considering one, but pretty much know I won't get it, it's not worth shipping, not worth a roadtrip for, and unless they come down on it a lot and I have to go back to Dallas it just won't happen.

You should have made it over to the farms man, if you ever make it back, check it out.

Yeah Keller Farms is cool, they have a pretty big stock of freshwater fish. Im not so sure on the guys that work there though. Ive been in there 3 or 4 times and everyt time they try to sell me un needed items and are kind of dicks if you dont buy anything.

For what its worth Im going to check out Dallas North Aquarium tomorrow. What were your thoughts on Dallas North?
