Hey Group--

I've had the Eheim fish feeder for years and it has worked great except for the adjustment for the amount to be dispensed. I use the very small Spectrum pellets for my small fish, and the opening settings on the feeder are either too small or too large.

I've tried the multiple passes multiple times a day, and I'm just not getting the amount dispensed that I want.

Can you recommend a digital fish feeder that is of course reliable, but also has a fine tuning for the amount dispensed? I've been traveling more for business lately, and my one stressor is my fish feeding while I'm gone.

Thanks!

Stephen

I have had a few auto feeders, and they all were no good until I got that Eheim that you are talking about. It cost almost $30, but it is really that much better than the other ones. I really have not seen anything as good as it is, so I can't reccomend anything better. How long do you go away? Your fish may not need feeding for a few days, or you can grow algae and planaria in a jar or something and put that in your tank for the fish to pick at while you are gone. You can also add snails and overfeed a little, they will eat up the leftovers.

Try placing a piece of tape over the opening, I've used this method for small NLS pellets.

I have the Eheim too. When I was using a certain type of round pellets, I used a piece of tape to secure the opening to the exact opening that I needed. It's true though, the set notches would be too small or too big.

OP, if you're not gone for too long, it's fine to feed a little less as well.
