So my daughter has always wanted a Puffer and I think I'm giving in :D

What is the best 100% FW puffer for me??

Must be a active puffer
Max tank as of now is 300gl
Can not be as aggressive as a Fahaka (I understand mixing them is high risk)

I am asking so I can do my HomeWork on puffers n specifically on the species
Thanks

any species of the red eye puffers, like red eye red bellies. they do not get big, you can have more than just one, and always active.

Freshwater and brackis puffers aren't really interestin imo and definitely don't the puffer image that most people, especially children or younger people would look for. I would go marine but it doesn't seem you're ready to do so

i would go fahaka they look sick but i know its a heavy risk

Thanks for the quick replys :D

I was planing on hopefully adding one as a tankmate w/my VATF but since reading, don't think it will ever happen as most 6-9" puffers are BW :(

The Tetraodon abei and the redtail puffer have my attention n i might just have a home in a 50gl corner tank for one of them :D

Thanks fellas/gals :D

I bet your daughter would love the cute lil dwarf puffers.

One of my favorites are the salivators(sp) but those are quite difficult to come by. You could do some brazilian bandeds and mix those with other fish just fine so it's not just one puffer in a tank! Your corner would be great for that!
