I recently have purchased a weeksii bichir about 5 inches or so and he has been fine since last friday everyday he looks normal. today he has alot of whiteish or just looks like the suckerfish attacked him. i have seen it in the past to a minor extent and their are alot of other bichirs who do not have any on them. it looks bad on him im concerned what to do if i need to move him or just put in the medicine and watch him. is it common for a regular pleco to do this to a bichir that is in his home. i noticed the weeksii was in the plecos cave or castle. what should i do please some adivce to keep him alive

While I am not too familiar with birchirs (sadly, I love the looks of them), I do know that plecos can and will attack/eat/suck on fish they can catch.

My vote would be to move him to a QT tank, and treat with a little bit of aquarium salt and pristine water quality. Mostly, you will want to keep his wounds from getting infected until they heal, and keep him away from the pleco.

If there is anything specific to birchirs I'm missing, someone please step in.

The pleco is deffinately a potential aggressor. But imo your water quality may be the culprit. Have you tested your water recently?
