so im planning on making a diy plywood tank it would be 96l/48w im still undecided on the height of the monster: 2,3 or 4 feet the cost would be almost the same for the diferrent heights since I can get the glass for almost nothing.:)

for filtration i would put a sump with a big diy wet/dry, sponges and filter socks i would also have a uv. Return would prob. be under sand jets.

for livestock I was planning mostly amazon species (this list could be altered):
-rtc catfish
-tsn catfish
-peacock bass
-arowana (could be an asian since I live in canda:naughty: )
-tiger dats
-stingray (probably motoro)
-red pacu

-sand
-huge driftwood
-huge plants (swords and java fern)

some questions I have for u guys:
-are under sand jets ok with rays???
-is the sand from home depot ok with rays?
-do these fish work togheter?
-how many of each fish?
-what about the height?
-I really dont know what to do about the lighting(diy)
-what would be the best way to waterproof the plywood?
Tell me what u think

i would skip the pacu they are cute when they are under a foot but they get big and like to break things for fun. for water proofing i would use some sort of epoxy paint tipe stuff. google plywood fish tank. how big of a sump do you plan on using??

I would probably use a sump in the neiborhood of 100-200g depending on the height of the tank. should I go for bigger?
