Long story short, I'm currently re-doing my big tank (300 gal), and Im looking for a cat that would act as a good clean up crew.

Im putting in the tank my
8 inch O
5 inch female JD
4 inch female Salvini
6 RH silver dollars
1 more to be determined later

Im not looking for anything very aggressive and growth of about 6 to 10 inches give or take, anyone have any ideas?

Edit: I should add I'd be willing to go a little bigger as well but nothing more then say 16"

Personaly going by info given I would say some limas.

They love each others company, so you can keap a few together, mine love to pick off all the food my messy oscars drop.

But they can get up to around 18" so might be a bit bigger than what you are looking for.

I have two, one is around the 16" mark I guess, the other is under a foot, both the same age from the same stock.

Both are also a few years old.

They are very peacefull and all your stock should be big enough for them to not try to eat them, havnt had any problems with mine trying to eat things way to big for them like RTC and other large cats tend to do.

Thats my suggestion anyway, I would get like 3 in that size tank, but they do fine alone as well.

Only thing I would mention is they are extremely scittish when small, both mine have slightly bent noses, but once they get older they are very stable, mine havnt spooked once in ages now, just when they are very small have to be carefull.

Maybe look into the larger synodontis catfish?? Maybe a sturgeon catfish?

Give cats caves to hide from cichlids.

1. Platydoras armatulus. Nocturnal, so you won't see it much. But it get on well with cichlids as a result.

2. Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps.

3. Liosomadoras oncinus.

4. Rhamdia quelen.
