OOOK so i have a 280gal acrylic tank. I bought it from an individual, and it used to be set inside a wall. On the front of the tank it has what looks to be a thin line a possible drywall plaster all the way around the front... any way of getting this off?? i tried novus and my buffer but it didnt do it. i tried a plastic razor, no work, i started to grab a metal razor but dont want to gouge the acrylic. Suggestions any1?!

get a pic of it. there is many things you can do. they make kits for acrylic. ill see if i can find the link.

If it is just plaster, water should take it off. You may have to soak it, let it sit, soak it some more, etc. But, eventually it should break down and wipe off. Careful wiping though, the plaster could scratch the acrylic.

Good luck!

I had the exact same thing on my 360. I had to use sand paper. Home Depot type stores and auto stores have wet sand paper. Get a couple types of very fine grit paper and sand the acrylic until it's white. Then go to the next grit size and continue till you get to Novus 3 then 2 then 1. Don't worry about it getting clear again, it will. I had a sick feeling when I first started sanding but I just keep at it and everything looks great! It's sort of a leap of faith kinda thing lol
