4 Months ago I purchased 4 senegalus from Petsmart. they were all of equal size ( approx 2"), 2 have since died and the 2 still with me are confusing the hell out of me. one of them, since I started feeding market shrimp and guppy feeders, has doubled in size from the other. The big one is roughlt 9" long now and the other is roughlt 6". I also purchased an albino 1 month ago that was approx 3" and the albino has since caught the smaller of the first purchase.
Surprisingly, all appear healthy, will actually nudge my fingers when I am moving things around in the tank and show no fear of me what so ever. but I can't understand why the one is sooo much larger than the other when they all started out the same size. I just got them to take Hikari pellets, but the largest one's growth rate really took off from the introduction of shrimp / guppies/ rosy reds / pellets.
Should i be concerned about either of the first 2 in the original group? either something wrong with the one growing at a fast growth rate or the one lagging behind? I would hate to wake up one morning and see the largest one have the smaller one sticking out of his mouth. All three currently get along great.
They are currently house with a 7" CK, 5" pbass, a 4" JD and a 4" green severum and a catfish that i can't even begin to name. It was labeled a driftwod cat but i think it was mislabeled.
Any thoughts?
