I had been currently houseing a jardini and a silver aro in a 500 gal tank-

It's time to finally split them up-

But here is my options-(not good ones really either)

I can't dedicate another tank to house a solo specimen-

I got him (12 inch jardini) crammed into a standard 55 gal right now to prevent ne deaths- (cruel-This I know)

I have a standard 90 gal that I could house him in-What does one think about that-
The tank mates would be a BP around the 7 inch mark, same sized common pleco-Busy nose pleco around the 6 inch mark,

Other than that-
I dont have many options-
Either kill the guy-
or keep him in the 55 gal until I can try to find him a home-
Which in my area will take alot of time-If I can even find someone to take it-

Or just let him and the silver battle it out and see what happens-(which I dont care for this one at all)...

Before I get flammed or n e of that happy Jazz-These fish were donated to me while I was out of town-I had no clue I was getting these fish...

What do I do-

I guess if I were in youre situation, I would take a chance and put him in the 90 for now. Better than letting them fight and risking 2 dead fishes.

In the 90 gal he would be kept in-

I keep an extremely clean setup(not nice-But clean),I run excellent filtration. And do huge multiple water changes weekly-

It's a bit small-But he would see excellent maintence....

I'd like to not get rid of him-

I would put him in the 90g for now but you'll have to figure something out before he gets 18" or so.. Hopefully someone in Alaska to take him or transport him elsewhere.

My questions are they fighting now in the 500g? Or are you being just safer than sorry? IMO I would wait to see some fighting before splitting them.

I would rather live in a small shack or a card board box, than be homeless....or dead. I think that the smaller tank is better than nothing if you can't find the proper arrangements. Most of the fish on this forum are very that they have such great and dedicated owners/hobbyists to care for them. I see big fish stuffed into small tanks all the time. The worst part is the water is usually gross. The home that you are providing is going to be better than most. Keep up the good work...

Words of encouragement-

Thanks..
