I'm going away for 7 days this is sadly the longest I have had to leave my fish. I have help but only for small things and will not be able to do my regular wc's. Iwas wondering about just not feeding or minimally feeding. I only would expect nitrates would rise a little with normal feeding but I fear my wife will leave uneaten food. Also would like to know what other ray keepers do when on vacation after all summer is around the corner

I have a friend come over every other day or so and feed small amounts. Water quality should be fine unless you have a very small tank.

Psuedopimelodus fowleri
Psuedopimelodus raninus(?)
Lophiosilurus alexandri
Asterophysus batrachus
Pangasius sanitwongsei
P. niger
Bagarius yarelli
Ageneiosus magoi

Cats I've kept:
M. tigrinus
G. platynema
B. juruense
Redtail cat

I do the same. I would like to know if anyone has come up with an auto frozen feeder though

Do you think it would be helpful to start spreading out wc and increase percent of water to increase bio on filters always di wc 3times a week to make it easier?

I just came back from holidays and I have lots of stock. Do your WC the day before you leave and just feed them around 3 times for the 7 days. Before hand try and add more media to your filters or sump if you have one. I had a family member feed the tanks 3 times in the 7 days and changed filter socks only once on the big tanks and I came home to healthy happy fish. As soon as I got back I did water changes on the big tanks first.

I don't feed my fish while away or have anyone else do it... one to many times people over-feed ect.. I do have them check the tank to make sure things are running smoothly ect... But I feed my fish the weeks prior very well, and do a few big water changes right up until we leave... I do this every year when we go on our family fishing trip lol. I come home and feed them rigth away a small amount.. and over the following days bulk them back up if need be... but I've never lost a fish to it. Only time i'de worry would be predation, but knock on wood i've never had that issue.

What do you feed your rays? When I'm gone for a couple of days and have someone to take care of the fish, I always prepare food (primarily frozen foods placed in plastic sandwich bags) for the caretaker. Individual servings are in the freezer for them, and I usually have them feed everyother day.
