I need some information on Flagtail Prochilodus a.k.a Fei Feng. I want to get one of these, but I don't know if a 90g will be enough to house it. I've been reading up on a few sites, but there's too much mixed info about properly housing them. So as oppose to trusting random website information, I've decided to ask on here before making the mistake of purchasing one without the necessary knowledge. I'm generally really only asking people who actually have experience with these fish.

So to anyone who has kept, or is currently keeping a flagtail, my question(s) would be: what size aquarium was, or is it in? & how well was, or is it doing? Oh, and a list of tank mates would be nice too! :)

Thanks, JC_P.

I had mine in a 300 with cichla and dats and a jardini. Just an FYI these guys eat algae they will graze your tank for it or you can feed them wafers. I'm sure a 90 gal might do because they dont grow that big in captivity

I have 4 in my 220 currently, they are best kept in singles for sure. Mine were a rescue. Even amongst the 4 there is a huge varience in growth rate. I have had them around a year, one has grown 4.5" and the rest about 1-2". I keep them with CA/SA's and pleco's. Supposedly they grow faster with a meatier diet, but mine all eat a variety of meat and veggies and algea. If you get it small (2"ish) it would be fine in a 90 for a while IMO. But have a back-up plan. I'm still trying to find a home for 3 seperate ones 6"+

Thanks for the info guys, I don't think I will be getting one then.
