Any dried piece of hardwood will work, take the bark off...

Now I really wanted to reply "that's what she said"

hahaha

yeah i knew it had to be hard would and that the bark had to come off. but is just a powerwashing all it needs? also if its not dried can it not go in the tank? i have to let it dry before?

check out the driftwoodstore.com They have a great selection with prices. I got mine but its been 4 weeks now and still hasn't sank in the tank yet?

I have a wood story.

When I moved into the house I am I drove past another house that had a huge dead stump that had awesome branching. I saw it and forgot about it, then I got my 220 and every day for a year and half I drove by their house always thinking how nice it would look in the tank. But how do you go to someone and ask for their tree stump? Then one day after over a 3 years I drove by saw that they cut it down and throw it to the curb fr some strange reason.

Well It looks great in my tank, I have had no issues with it nore any fungus or tannings.

Actually I would not let it dry out because it will be harder to keep down. You should go down to the damn or any body of water where wood collect at and should be able to find several nice pieces. I went down to the damn and found a piece 6 feet long and put the entire piece in my tank and it looks awesome.
