I have a 90 gallon that is 48" x 18" x 24". I want to house a breeding pair of oscars in there. Although I want to raise them from babies so I am going to go out and buy 5 baby Oscars. At what size will the Oscars begin to make too much waste for my tank where they will slowly need to start being removed????

I currently have 3 but have been told that it is a bad number to find a pair. Should I stick with the 3 or get 2 more.

The only way to be for sure is when your water changes can't keep up with your nitrate levels. My guess is that they'll start fighting for territory before you have to worry about the water quality too much.

what are some good tank mates for a Oscar????

The tank I am thinking about is 90 gallons. 4 feet by 18" by 2 feet tall???

I like GT are they ok to go with a Oscar??? or are they too aggressive??? I think there called False GT the ones with the orange tail???

I have kept Green Terrors with Oscars before but I have had Green Terrors who were not at all willing to coexist with Oscars. When it comes to mixing tankmates its all just trial and error. You may have to go through a few Green Terrors before you find one that will live with the O's.

is there anything that is more timid that won't mind????

maybe a EBJD or a regular JD???

With a breeding pair of oscars it will be difficult to keep any other tank mates in a 90.
