I currently have cownose, spotted eagle ray, and one southern. The southern however is starting to develop a bolbus patch on her pelvic fins. I know that it is due to overeating and stunting. The problem is that I can not move her into a large area. Other than guitarfish is there another bottom feeder that will give her some competition? Excluding horseshoe crabs.

Try target feeding so you can ration the food. Lets see some pics of the spotted. Also who supplied you with it? PM me if you don't want to state it publicly. Also what size is your system?

I think you'll have a hard time finding something to out eat that Southern. Time to graduate and find a new one for that spot. ;)

The size of the exhibit is 9,500 gallons. Also can't target feed it or relocate. I am very restricted to what I can do and the opinion I give. TOMATO.........

I say hold you breath for a couple weeks and move on. Or catch a smaller Southern to swap in. (I could get one and we could trade if you want ! ;) )

Since I know you can't say anything... I will on your behalf as a person from the outside. (Let me know if I shouldn't and I'll delete.)
Animals in question are in a touch pool. They are subject to being fed twice daily, and fed a larger amount than is healthy due to the facility looking to make money without regard to animal health (food is sold to the public). Staff is (and has been) looking for ways to please managers and still maintain a high level of animal husbandry. This situation is being seen in advance right now by the staff b/c it's already happend once - and the animal became morbidly overweight to the point where she wouldn't have lasted another couple days being offered that much food.
