need some dovii advice

my dovii is down in the basement, when he was up in my room in the 55 he was more personable, now that he is downstairs he is a little more shy, and does not eat very much infront of me, do you think that his growth will be stunted if i put him back in the 55 alone so that he can see me more and get used to me again?

How long has the Dovii been in his new tank? Could just be a case of new tank-itis. If he's been there for a while he might be in need of some dither fish to get him over his shyness. What size tank is he in now? I'd forget about putting him back in the 55. Onward and upward, I say!

Get use to him being shy. Every dovii i have ever seen will hide all the time until they hit about 6" if you give them something to hide behind. My friend Jonah has about a 6" Male and it hides like a ***** all the time. But be patient once he gets big he will be out in the open all the time.

i would give it some time first. i know this sounds corny but try spending some more time with him. Dovii are very smart. he'll begin to remember you.

he is only in my hundred gallon right now, i have put in giant danois that are big and he killed them that night
