need some drift wood help

I have a good size piece of drift wood in my 100gal tank and the tannas(mispelled) from the wood has the water lookin like crap...what can I do short of takin the drift wood out of the tank??? I m runnin an underground filter and a big canister filter on it..can i do anything short of takin the wood out..do you need pics?? I do water changes ...50 gals ever 2 weeks...the water color is drivin me nuttie..

Tannins. Did you pre-wash and soak the wood before putting it in your tank?
Just do a lot of water changes...it will eventually clear up.

personally i like the look of darker water, but ya once its in, nothing but WC after WC will get rid of it, and it will probably leech for months to come unless you take it out and boil it
