well i really want to do a tank that ive seen in a lot of videos. now, before i jump into this i wanted some advice. alot of vids on you tube have tanks with one freaking massive oscar and other fish,etc. i wanted to follow this particular one i saw. i want to have one big fish(my oscar) 2 mediums(GT and JD) then some smaller ones, jewels, dwarfs,etc. i wanted to gt my best options, here. i want it to be colorful and all my fish are really "tame?" or community friendly. it will be a 58 oceanic or a 75. thanks for any help, pointers, pics, vids or anything from your succses is very appreciated.

You're gonna need at least 125 for the stock you desire. A 75 is good for a solo Oscar.

I would only keep a JD, GT and oscar in a 6 footer. Oscar and GT in a 90 could work but JD and GT in 90 there will be alot of aggression between them. Solo or bigger tank.

Agreed, a 125 would be a good size for that community. Depends on the personality of the fish. If the O, JD or GT is particularly aggro you will have problems. Have you considered convicts for your "smaller" fish?

I had an Oscar, Jag, and JD along with a CK and a couple of Catfish in a 75g. The O hit 10" and the Jag was 9", JD was 7" got pretty cramp in less than a year.

thanks for the help you guys. i might not do this one. what do you think about a docile GT and some smaller fish. hes in with a jewel cichlid(surviving feeder) and theres no aggresion what so ever.

yeah i know but it just makes me when i see people on you tube do it in a 29 and realize that i cant do it.

about 50% of the fish regarding youtube videos ive seen have been depressing and disappointing.
but some are very nice, its just not too common.
