Hey guys, I have two tanks that I need help with 1 180G and 1 120G. In my 180g I have 1 12in Tiger Oscar, 1 7in Green Severum, 1 11in Chocolate, 1 4in Blue Acara, 1 3in Datnoid and 5 Silver Dollars. In my 120g I have 1 5in Male Jack Dempsey, 1 4in Male Convict, 1 3in Male Firemouth, and 3 Clown Loaches.
Well in my 120g tank I have noticed my Convict is not happy. He gets picked on and for the most part is always black he just doesn't look happy. Same can be said with my Severum in the 180g, he looks like he gets picked on a lot and is always real dark because of stress. Since the Severum is a lot bigger than the Dempsey and the Firemouth he may not get picked on, I was wondering if I should swap the to. I also wanted to add 2 more Datnoids to the 180g and swaping the Severum for the Convict may open up a little bit more room, and maybe the fish would be happeir. On the other hand, I know the Dat is not South American but I wanted to keep an SA themed tank for the 180g and a Central American themed tank for the 120g and that would kinda mess that up a little.
So if I made the switch my 180g would be Oscar, Chocolate, Acara, Convict, Datnoids, and 5 Silver Dollars. The 120g = Dempsey, Severum, Firemouth and 3 Clown Loaches. Please give me your opinion on the situation, if you guys think I should leave it alone I want to here that to. These tanks have been set up for a long time and I love them so it is a major decision that I have to make. What would you guys do?

Thanks!

Hey guys, please read your help is appreciated. These two tanks are my pride and joy and want to make the right decision. Thanks

Do as you are suggesting. But don't get more dats.

Why wouldnt you add 2 more dats, no attitude just wondering. If you think bioload is an issue, my tank is heavily filtered and i also do 85% water changes every week. I thought that adding 2 more dats would curb some aggresion. Thanks for your help

I think your plan is pretty solid. And really, adding the datnoids isn't a TERRIBLE idea. What kind of datnoid do you have and are you adding? That could make a difference.

Thanks for the reply I currently have 1 NTT in the 180g and would like to add 2 Indos, let me know what you think.

Thanks

That should work alright. If you plan on keeping all those fish for life, do you plan on keeping them in the 180?

Yes, the 180g would be 1 Oscar, 1 Chocolate, 1 Blue Acara, 1 Convict, 3 Dats, and 5 Silver Dollars. I know im pushing it but not that bad right? Once all full grown if its to much i might rehome the Chocolate.

Thanks

You really are pushing it. My friend had a similar setup but with 3 oscars... one day he came home to find that one of his oscar fish had enough of the crowding and killed off the other oscars and injured the others.
