Hey so recently I ordered 3 more three spotted earth eaters (Satanoperca daemon) from the wet spot in Oregon. They said they are wild caught. And a few months before I had ordered 1 three spotted earth eater and he's doing fine. But when I introduced the new ones he started picking on them. Now the new ones are in the corner and I'm worried they won't come out of the corner to eat so they can build up their strength. Any solutions to the problem anyone?

Basically protecting its established territory.
Did you rearrange the décor before introducing the new stock?

No I didn't rearrange the decor. But I should do that then right?
Its a pain in the butt, but that's probably the only way to break the territorialism....temporaily. Once its a "new territory", then they'll establish pecking orders

Thanks xraycer, I did it and now they are swimming around the tank with no problems. The dominant earth eater isn't picking on them.

A good idea to quarantine the new fish prior to introducing them. Allows the new fish to regain strength and not get further stressed by the existing fish and protects the existing fish from potential disease...

Matt
I actually used to have a quarantine tank until the seal broke and caused a leak. Haven't had time to re seal it.

I would either re arrange the tank or remove the bully until the other 3 settle in.
