wondering if an emperor 400 will work allright in a 55-80 galon tank
i found some on petsmart.com for $42.99 and i'm wondering if that is a good price

I would personally go for a Fluval 304 or 404. They are very good filters, and will allow for much more biomedia. your looking at 89.99-114.99 for those two filters. I got all three of my 404s for 99.99

thats a little to much money for me don't get me wrong though i'm not tryin to go cheap on my fish's i'm gonna upgrade later on

get 2 penguin 350Bs.... check bigals for best price, same manufactorer as the emporer, same design, only rated at 5 gallons less, and at half the cost...

i still prefer aquaclear for HOB filter but that is another discussion. check www.bigalsonline.com. they have pretty good price.

if you would put in some more money.. i would get an xp3 which runs around $99 on the web. Hob are good but it all depends on your opinion on different brands. mostly people have been using emperor and Aqua Clear. i think aqua clear is cheaper to maintain in the long run. that's only my opinion.. and honestly... AquaClear 110 model runs 428gph (turns around your water 5 times if your running 80 gal tank) which is fantastic! you can get it for $44.99 plus S&H.
