i have a 110g tank with a 6"red tailed catfish, a 4" Freshwater lion fish,
and i also have two catfish that im not sure the names of..

one is a fish that looks like a iridescent shark...i remember it was called a "stripped...something"
its about 4" long..swims all over the tank and eats rosies and sinking pellets..

my other catfish i bought because it looks so cool.
i went the other day to get the name of it and they took the sticker down because it was their only one.
he is also about 4" long ans has spikes all down its side..
it looks like a pre-historic fish...

i have done the search on the internet and even looked in the picture section here..

anyone know what fish i might be talking about?

Thanks,
BD

i will do it tomorrow....

I'll post them too..

im just looking for a name so i can look them up.

I think ID sharks are occasionally referred to as striped pangasius or striped catfish.

As far as the second one, there are quite a few catfish with "spines" down their sides, but I am going to guess Oxydoras niger aka Ripsaw Catfish. http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=37

Its kinda of hard to make guesses without pictures.

FYI, freshwater lionfish actually require brackish water, and do you have plans to upgrade to a larger tank for the other fish? Redtails & ID sharks can get huge.

thanks for your help.
that link you gave me was a great help.
i found the same spiked catfish.
ill look up the sharks now.

yes i do plan on building a bigger tank.
it will be 8lx3wx2h and it will be in my basement.
also working on a permanent water change for the 110 as we speak.
im just growing the fish out so the stingrays i get wont eat them.

i also know that lionfish are brackish but they are also freshwater and can live in both.

again, thanks for the help.

Yep thats a ripsaw catfish, I would consider taking all of your fish back unless you plan on getting a huge aquarium later down the road.

haha...
thanks for your concern.
i think i'll be ok.

Just trying to give you a heads up. I think a lot of people would tell you that even an 8x3x2 wouldnt work for life for those fish. The width of the tank at least would need to be greater. A large pond would be best suited to those fish.
