Hi everyone,
Short and sweet, this is my tank
6' x 2' x 18" 1/2" glass (150G)
Bought second hand in September
Put in 2, 4" by 1/2" thick pieces of glass braces back to front at each 2' to prevent the tank from bowing. Using aquarium silicone. Came home today and the 2 supports have come undone. :eek:What should we do? In the middle of the tank, it bows about 1/4" from the ends. Is it safe to leave it? Are we being too cautious? Some help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry, I know there have been posts about this before but now that I need the info I can't seem to find the thread.

Please help somebody!!!:nilly:

id drain it till it doesnt bow anymore(1/2 way maybe?) and resilicone the brace. just dont refill for a couple days to let the silicone fully bond, you should be able to get away with leaving the fish in the tank as long as you watch the water perams.

Go to the hardware store and buy 3-4 clamps that can reach across the tank for support. I used 3' clamps as they looked a bit sturdier. Clamp them in place (One in the middle and the other two in between the middle and the end) to keep it from bursting.

Then either replace the tank of repair it. Personally I would replace it.
