ok, so i am tired of the aggression out of these dicrozoster, and i am going to down size to a pair. So i need your help, i know i have a jumbo male which is bigger than them all but he is not pictured, so i am looking for a female.

Most geos are sexual dimorphic, which means you cant tell the sex until some eggs are layed. You "can" use the normal sexing cichlid method, but its not going to be 100% accurate. Sometimes there are slight signs that give it away though. The 3rd pic does look like a male, but thats really all i can say. Pairs arnt really possible with this kind of fish bc of harem breeding. You only want 1 male. good luck

hmm, ok. so what your saying is that i should stick with only 1, no females or multiple females?

Im not too sure what to tell you here man. They look more like G. abalios to me.
If you want them to breed you will need multiple females, or the male will kill. Geos get very aggressive during spawn which means they need a pack of females(a harem). This is how the fish naturally breeds. Im not an expert on geos, but i do know a few things.
If your not trying to breed them, id suggest getting rid of all of them except the best looking one. Then make a non aggressive community tank. Its all preference, but do a little research and im sure you will find the answers your looking for.

no they are dicrozoster, if you look at the little mark on their chin, also they came from rapps. they are already in a community, i am basically trying to stop them from shreding each others tails, and they are in a 230g tank. I was hoping to keep more than one, but i understand what you mean. i know some stuff about the geos, but i just didn't realize how hard they were on each other. i will probably sell them all except my jumbo male. he is the best looking one

Right on, I just noticed the head shape isnt typical with the dicro's, plus cant really see the spot under the eye. Haha I trust rapps though. When fish dont get along you either have to get rid of the problem or try dithers. 230gal is ample space for them to be civil, but some fish are just monsters.
Befor you get rid of all of them you could try some dithers in there to distract them from each other a little bit. Or get rid of the problems fishes, bc it probably has to do with mating. All of them dont have to go. If you get rid of all of them and keep the problem geo, chances of him fitting into a community are slim.

yep i have dithers, actually 6 congos, and about 8 other tetras. and the weird part is, the dicrozosters only go after each other and shred each other fins, so i think its mating.
