Hello, I have a 100 gallon tank with a 12" oscar, and 2 - 12" Crenicichla lugubris. I was wondering if i could keep several Cichla with with these fish? Has anyone kept any of the fish I mentioned with cichla? Also, any good places to find cichla in or around Michigan?

Lemme know what you think

thanks, Buck

I think you should be fine with those fish and cichla. I've seen them housed together a few times without any problems. My only concern is that the cichla will outgrow the 100g. I'm still relatively new to Cichla and have no experience with cichla bigger than 9", so I'm not sure how fast one would out grow the 100g.

ok sounds good. I'm thinking i'll add the cichla at a size that will stand against the Pikes because there pretty agressive. Hopefully 8-12" cichla.

But I still need a reliable place to get em. The ones at the LFS's around where I live are all hybrids

If you don't mind paying shipping, snookn21 has quite a few cichla at a buy one get one free price.

I was just gonna say that ado. What is the footprint on your tank? They will mix great w/ the fish you have...Hit up snookn21.

I currently have a 48 X 28 X 18.

If it's 28" wide then yes, if its 18" wide, then no.

Try Fantastic Fins in Livonia Buck they have pure bred cichla from reputable suppliers.

I was thinking about going there. they always have lots of good stuff. I used to be tight with chris and dale too lol. havent been there in 2 years
