Well, I had planned to go with Herotilapia Multispinosas for my 150Tall but I'm having a hard time finding them. The LFS said they can't seem to find them either through their distributers, so i'm looking at Dwarfs now.
The question is, should i go for one species in the tank, or mix Apistos and Rams? Thanks for the help!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
- Would you suggest sticking to one type only, Rams or Apistos?
- How many would you suggest?
I'm going tomorrow to pick out the cichlids, so I'm really hoping you guys can help me out.

Rams and appistos work fine together from what i´ve seen, you can also go with the keyhole cichlids too.
heres a apisto I had a few years ago, I cant remember what it was, but its closely related to a cockatoo

might I add, that tank is pretty big you could have geophagus species in there, and also angel fish. you have a lot of options, I thought you meant your tank size was in Litres not Gallons lol

Look at gymnogeophagus species for small geos, and geophagus sp. for larger, they grow slowly and are peaceful

Thanks for your help. I will look into those.

how did it go Hokie?

I ended up going with a group of six altispinosis. I made some other changes to the tank as well. My BA Tetras were starting to eat on my Anubias and Java Ferns, so I pulled them out and took them back to the store and traded them for a school of cherry barbs. You can't really have a planted tank if the fauna are eating all the flora...
Since the fin nippers are gone, I may look at adding a couple of angles once the plants grow some more and things in the tank settle down. The rams are still skittish.
