OK, so i have 2 OK, so i have 2 neolamprologus tretocephalus(five-bar cichilds, false frontosas, trets, dwarf frontosas) that I'm trying to breed they are from the same fry and the one i believe to be male is 3 in with 2 of the front bars being kind of faded the one i believe to be a female is 2.5 in with all 5 bars really black i but them in a 10g tank(temp 80, ph 8, ammonia nitrate and nitrite 0) big piece of drift wood and 2garden pots (with whole on top of it) where there are 2 tiger barbs 1in at most and 2 plecos wich are 2in big but the bigger neolamprologus tretocephalus just beat the other 1 up really bad are they not big or old enogh to have fry yet? what age, size do they become sexualy mature or are able to breed? what am i doing rong? any thing that will help me.

I did read up a ton on them for like a week straight!!!!

trets are quite bad tempered towards each other at the best of times and in a 10 gallon this will be much worse, you need to be thinking 55 gallon upwards to try and get them to form a pair or have enough room to avoid each other.
with trets its better to grow up 6 in a large tank with other suitable tank mates and let a pair form naturally, even then you may not get success. they are not the easiest tanganyikan to breed.
