So I had this leather for about a month and everything was going good. Recently I have noticed that it is loosing its "skin" on the lover part of its trunk. I think that it might be the lighting in my 8 g as I have PC's. I moved him into my 29 tonight that has t'5. I could use MH's on the 29 but I think its overkill and I dont want to burn anything.Anyhow, I have done some research and saw that leathers arent supposed to be next to zoanthids......well mine was right next to some. I got my info here http://mark26.tripod.com/leather1.html at the end of the first paragraph. Then I came across this...http://www.garf.org/FRUGALREEFER/fruzoa/zoaring.html look at the pics lol. So I am confused as what could be causing my leather to look like it does. I have not been adding iodine like I should be and Im sure that is part of it:wall: Should leather be put next to zoanthids? Also, is it a bad idea to put it into my 29? i dont want to nuke that tank. anyway let me know what you think.

TOP PIC: you can see the peeling on the top left of the leather's arm. Its kinda white. Also got a cool pic of a starfish hitching a ride on the blue legged hermit!
BOTTOM PIC: its all absorbed because I just moved it. You can see that there is some peeling near the base though. :(:(

Leather corals oftentimes shed their outer later of skin. Give it a good blast of flow once a day to help it along, or just wait for it to naturally shed would be my bet.

Keep us posted through the next couple days.

Is it natural for it to turn white though?
