guys, i have this group of angels in a 400L and i have just caught a pair - one gold and one half black. the gold angel is laying eggs all over the glass...and the half black is guarding it. what should i do now? there is four other angels in that tank and a clown loach. is there any way of taking those eggs out and moving it to another tank? i can see the half black fertilising them and a few of the eggs tat fall off the side of the tank, the gold angel eats them. i have had this pair since they were juvies, and this is the first time they have bred. i have never done this before...any advice?can i move the eggs? but they are on the wall of the tank...

Unfortunately you cant really move the eggs without killing them, if you feel the eggs are being threatened you can always take out the other tankmates, or you could let the parents protect them until they hatch, then move the fry, gl

ok well i better just leave them there then, i wasnt really planning on breeding the angels so it doesnt matter now, i'll just leave them and see what happens. as this is there first time they will probably eat everything

they might eat them if not fertile. IME, they protect there egg's rather good. but once they hatch, move the fry. the parents and the other's might eat them. or if you have a extra tank you can move the others in the extra tank.

oooh thanks pat - sounds good what you're saying...well i think i will buy a 40g or 50 g and just move the pair over to the tank once its set up properly. will just put in new sand and then media/water from old tank. then we shall see what happens the next time round...well so far all they appear to be doing is fanning the eggs. they have eaten around 20 eggs and there are about 100 left...hopefully some will actually hatch, but im not getting my hopes up lol
