Need some Help.

I got a 55g thats currently in the process of cycling. I was thinking of keeping one of the convicts i got (out of the 5 to get a breeding pair, which i got one btw ) and growing it out. My questions is....

What else can i put in the 55g with him?

fire mouths, jack dempsy, oscar, cutteri, sajca, jewls, salvini, green terror exc.
any medium sized cichlid that can hold thier own. don't over crowd the tank tho

agreed on the firemouth front, and salvini, however, the sajica are a little pussy for convicts when breeding, and may get beaen up.

If you go for terrors or dempsys then i would suggest getting only one.

thanks for the reply =). i was thinking of some dwarf cichlids apistogrammas) and some firemouths...would that be alright? or would the dwarf cichlids become food when the convict gets larger? I forgot to post the measurements of the tank in my first post but the dimensions are 48"x13"x21.
Also....

If i could put dwarf cichlids in there...how many?
As for the Firemouths how many would you suggest?

Sorry for all the questions....just don't wanna end up overstocking the tank >_<

i also would not go with the oscar unless your planning to increase the size of your tank later on.. oscars are messy and get big....

The dwarf cichlids would get killed, they very delicate. I would go with fire mouths and maybe a blue acara.
