well i did a water change today and fed my fish some frozen plantkten and frozen blood worms after i did a water change and now i turned the heater up to 84 to 86 and fed some brineshrimp to them, anyways im trying to get my firemouths to spawn so am i doing things right?? anything i missed?? i know the heater is kinda high but i cant get them to spawn at 82 or 80 ( wont go any lower cause i know thses fish need warm water ) but ya im trying to get my firemouths to spawn so anymore info??

try doing a series of water changes . . . I recently upped the frequency of water changes, and it immediately inspired some new breeding behavior in my tanks

also, I think you're correct that 84-86 degrees is probably too high; for Firemouth, I would think 80 would be adequate, as long as other conditions are good
