Sorry to see you have a problem.
It's hard to say from the pics, possibly a Tumor or Cyst but unusual for a Tumor to break the skin. What does the white stuff look like (fungal, parasitic, bacterial?)

This looks like a common SAL parasite. Its' a worm that lives around the anal area of SAL and once adulthood sets in, the worm emerges out of the anal area to reproduce. I've had this happen to my wild caught SAL before. The importer told me that it is becoming more and more common to find these fish with this particular parasite. "White Worm", is what I think they call it. Since these species and all lungfish mainly live on the bottom of rivers and lakes, for some reason yet unknown they get this type of parasite more often than other top living fish.
When my SAL got this, I moved him to a hospital tank. Clear bottom and bare. Once the worm is out, which from the pictures, it sure looks like one (But I really can't tell for sure) kill it and CLEAN the Tank out GOOD! Move the Lung into a bucket while you clean both tanks! Then do a salt water bath on the lung and put him back into the hospital tank. Make sure the wound heals fully before replacing him back into the main tank. There can be more that come out of the wound, so be sure that the wound has healed all the way closed.
I hope this helps. I'll try to find the article and scientific name of this particular parasite. Good Luck!

Please give me till Monday, Feb. 12th for a specific species name. I'll see my professor then and he can help me on this subject, thanks. :)
