I live in Massachusettes, and am wondering who i need to write to about if and when Snakeheads may become legal.I have a proposal, what if the Goverment issued licenses or permits in order to keep the snakehead. This way the authorities could keep track of the owners of these fish. Then The irresponsible ones can really go to jail. Can you tell i really miss keeping Snakeheads???:cry::cry:

yea but irresponsible people being sent to jail means the damage was already dealt to lake the snakehead owned

don't get me wrong. i wish i could have one too.

Also heard that Florida is trying to ban the sales of Pacu(its in the early stages)

Do you have a link to that?

If they'd just stop wallyworld from selling them it would be a great step forward. Sign on tank 'today' says they grow to 10", (they don't mention that's in the first 6 mo.s  ).

Licenses and permits are good for honest people, but if a fish dies they would have to freeze it and turn it in to FWC or a regulating authority the can recognize it. Probably would have to be chipped too.

The many suffer because of the few. :(

Any time you get a beuacracy involved things get worse, among other things how would you like in home inspections on demand like they do in some states for exotic cats.

Isn't that the truth

It doesn't matter if you go to jail after releasing invasive species. Hell, it doesn't matter if they institute the death penalty for it. After you released the fish, you could be a rotting carcass, but your releasees would be wrecking havoc on ecosystems.

IMO it would be a huge step forward if they stopped walmart from selling fish all together, or if they just stopped walmart:D

Honestly,i wouldnt mind the inspections(course here in Spfld,Mass) that would happen 1 every 15 yrs.The freezing wouldnt bother me either(i have done that before).Putting chips in the fish actually sounds pretty good too.I know this will never happen though.I just have a real funny feeling that there is Snakeheads in this country somewhere, because there are alot of things banned from this country that somehow always find thier way here.
