wats goin on ive got a 90 gallon tank it has 2 aquaclear 50 powerfilters and 2 200 watt heaters it has 6 discus plus im gonna get 2 more in a month or so i also have 2 plecos a bgk 2 angles and an arawona i need some ideas for plants slate driftwood and such the tank runs at 83 to 84 degrees

your tank is way overstocked. I'd move the arowana and agels for a start. Both too aggressive IMO. Eight discus in a 90 gal tank is already pushing it

I know a lot of people don't want to hear this, but if you are really concerned about your fish than apisto is absolutely correct. your tank is over stocked as is. not enough room for those fish and not enough filtration as all those fish are poop machines. just a matter of time before you start having problems.

ditche all the fish but the discus it will make things much easier on the discus i dunno anything about the filters you have but i would recomend getting an eheim 2217 they are brilliant and as for decoration i think just a nice big peice of driftwood and lots of plants makes an awesome discus tank also have a good read on how to properly care for discus good luck

Discus are sensitive to water conditions are really no harder to keep than other fish. A good water condition for discus is acidic soft water a TDS level of not higher than 50 ppm. Angels are ok to be with the discus just don't out number them with the discus cause angels can be agressive. Also consider some cory cats in the tank with them they will eat a lot of the food that hits the bottom. A good filter one that I have used now for years is the Magnum 350 canister filter and easy to clean and maintain.
With discus it is good to use driftwood and plants and try to put a nice piece of slate standing up right in the aquarium or a piece of a clay pot discus will like it.
I keep and breed discus and angel fish they are great fish to have. I also keep many other tropical fish for research.
