I have a 55 gallon tank and it has never been used before. I have a eheim pro 2 canister for up to 90 gallons right now. I am not sure on what fish to get. I just want a nice looking tank and fish. I don't care if it's one fish or 20 fish. I just want some ideas and I will go from there. Also I am planning on using bio spira to cycle the tank. Anyone tried it before?

I have heard from friends locally that bio spira works.. And on here as well..

55g's

What kind of fish do you like right now? Do you have any clues as to help us make suggestions?

Tropical
Botia striata
Harlequin rasboras
Diamond tetras
Botia histrionica
Botia kubotai
Five bar barbs (Barbus pentazona)
Ruby barbs
Giant danios
Zebra danios
Rasbora pauciperforata
Rasbora boraptensis

Coldwater
Hillstream loaches
Puntius denisonii
White cloud mountain minnows
Schisturas

Other choices:
Garra flavatra
Garra rufa
Garra cambodgiensis

Siamese algae eaters
Otocinclus
Corydoras

Try to get a list of what is available locally and come back so we can help narrow down the list. In the meantime, read this thread for more information on Siamese algae eaters.

Zebra danios
Rasbora pauciperforata

If you want something with a lot of color look into peacock cichlids...a tank full of males would be beautiful!
