I am interested in buying and am currently looking for a couple Zebra Bullhead Sharks
Don't worry about the Aquarium, it will be about 2500-5000 gallons
(aprox. 12x6x5) At least thats the size I am looking at
I know they get 4 feet long
I just can't find a person whos sell them
Possible Tank-Mates?
Thanks,
Michael

I've never seen actual prices list for Zebra Bullheads.

But have talked to a person(on different aquarium forum), that has got a pair of them. And he inported them. He's basically said they it cost about $5,000 each to import(including, shipping, collection, & premits).

I heard other state that a LFS in New York City, may have one for sale for about $6,000. Which LFS - I don't know.

But the point is to get a pair of Zebra Bullheads - your going to have drop some major dough.

As for possible - Tank mates.

IMO, I would suggest similar tank mates for a the Zebra Bullhead as you would have for Horns. The big difference - zebras are generally thought to be a slightly warmer water species, than Horns.

Possible tank mates.

tangs, small groupers, some small eels or even japanese wobbies.

The Zebra Eel is a nice eel to add to any tank. And is compatible with sharks. When I get my system up and going I am going to be throwing in a blue hippo tang and a yellow tang. And as krj-1168 said Tangs are compatible with sharks as well. Post pictures once you get everything up and running.

Of course - I do question the need for a 5' deep tank for bullhead sharks. Generally they're bottom dwellers, so about 3-4' is really all the depth you need.

A better tank that is about equal in size would be approximately 14' long x 7-8' wide x 3-4' deep.

I have a zebra eel with my bamboo sharks. I also have a zebra lion fish and a marine betta with them. I have read that putting nippy fish like tangs with bottom dwellers is a risk because they can bite the eyes out of the sharks. It's a risk I wont take. I only put fish that swallow their prey whole in with my sharks.

Here is the zebra lionfish and one of the sharks. The PVC pipe you see is for the eel insted of crowding the sharks with more rock.

And here is my marine betta.
