Good morning folks, would like to start a thread on this topic to get some insight and real user experiences.

I have a 180g (60"x30"24") with (2) 1367GPH submersible pumps. I want more flow and was looking into getting "a" powerhead or powerheads.

I have a Marineland Maxi-Jet 900, but its too loud. Our thinking is that we shouldnt have anything louder than the pumps.

That being said, I am looking to get some major flow in my tank. The overflow is on the right of my tank, so I would mount the powerhead(s) on the left side of the tank. Looking for lots of flow, without having powerhead(s) louder than my pumps.

Thoughts? Experiences? Thanks guys!

Anyone have real life experiences with the Koralia line? I am thinking a magnum 7.

I read a few reviews saying they are quiet, but wanted to see if any MFK'ers can shed some light.

For volume, hard to beat koralias. For power, nothing beats the vortec mp40 or 60w wavemakers. They can be louder than koralias, but the performance cann

A lot of people are also saying that the box rating is very underrated. Maybe ill go with a Korlia Magnum 5 instead of a 7.

Weird, my maxijet pro's (1200) were really quiet. I took them off because they produced too much heat and used more electricity. As a circulation pump I do like my koralias (evolution 1400's) much better. Silent, powerfull, and uses magnets instead of suction cups. If you want quiet I hear the vortec MP's can be pretty loud. Check it out on youtube. The whirring and rattling sound would drive me nuts if it was in my bedroom. The price is also rediculous (but they are kinda cool)...
If you do go with the koralias make sure you get the ones with the standard plugs if you don't want to have to buy a wavemaker to run them. If you want to run them on a wavemaker make sure you get the ones with the plugs specially made for the wavemaker models.
