Hey guys so I've been raising large freshwater fish for years and over the past year or so I've been doing a lot of reading and I want to start a small reef tank. Now being versed in fresh water I will admit in the realm of marine fish I am a newbie please throw as much Intel at me as possible :)

I am just starting my very first SW tank as well after many years of fresh. An all-in-one or AIO tank seemed to me to be the easiest way to get started with a small tank. Bio-cube and JBJ Nano-cube are the two main options for these style tanks while Red Sea is a more expensive version. The benefits of these tanks is that they already have the lighting and filtration built in so buying the tank gives you most of the equipment. The best advice I've been given from many people is to take things very slow. SW is a different best and rushing things will usually lead to disaster. So take your time, do your research, and good luck with everything. Here's the thread I started about my build I'm in the progress of.

Innovative marine is also a bundle that is cost effective and has better lights(led). They also sell protein skimmers for that size aquarium, (4,8,16,30,38) and if you are starting a reef buy a two salts one reef and one regular so alkalinity does get to high(big problem)

Well I have a selection at the comment but probly going to start with either a 30 or 55. I still have alot of lighting for all size tanks that have many different coral bulbs. Or should I start smaller?
