What is the best way to move 2 - 10" Oscars and 2 - 12" plecos? They are going to be moved to the 125 gallon today and I need to know the best way to move them.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!!!

Thanks, I do have a 2.5 gal. bucket that I will try and use, the last time I used a net, it scratched the hell out of them.
I hope it goes smoothly, they will be so happy in their new large home.

The bucket or bag method works better than a net for larger or delicate fish, just use the net to gently herd the fish into the bucket. Be sure the bucket is covered when you actuall move it to the other tank, oscars don't fly well.

I've had good luck with Koi nets. They're soft and big and dont seem to allow the fish to get "stuck"

Don't use the net on the pleco's, to hard to get them out and then you have to thro away the torn up net :D (experience talking here (I was in a hurry)).

Bag or bucket (I found an 2g oval trash can that fits narrow tanks better but no handle)

Thanks, I got them moved, I just used a bucket. One of my Oscars thrashed around alot and got some scrapes, but the other one just swam right into the bucket.
As for the plecos, I just trapped them in a corner and scooped them right up.
Worked great. Thanks for all the help guys. Hopefully I wont have to move these guys again. I think they are in their permanent home.

What I do to move fish and aquariums is this: Get yourself some large garbage cans 30 gallons or so, fill them up with the aquarium water. Place fish in the cans, have a few cans and only fill no more then half otherwise you will never be able to move them. Take the tank and everything with you to the new place and set up your tank, replace the water from the cans back to the aquarium, replace the fish, and top up with fresh declorinated water. Bingo your done.
