Okay, I want to know the best route to go. I bought a 15'' common oscar to add in my 500 gallon with my other 2 common oscars. I knew I might have a problem buy adding the new oscar already having two might cause problems. 2 gang up on the new on. Yeah thats what kinda happend. The 10'' oscar beat up the 15 '' oscar bad. He is missing fins and lots of scales. The big oscar is a big wuss. So I moved the mean oscar to the 45 gallon. I am hoping that the big oscar can heal up in the 500. And buy hopes when he heals up and I add the mean oscar back the terrorties will be changed so the 10'' oscar will no longer own the tank. Is this the best way to do this? or should I add the 15'' oscar to the 45 and treat him? I am not sure what is the best way. Now the 15'' oscar in the 500 can heal with out being picked on.

That's the way to go. Is the other oscar (the 3rd one) giving your new one any problems? If not they you should be OK. Let the new one establish himself (it will probably happen quicker than you'd expect), move any big structures (rockwork, driftwood) around, then once your new one is settled try re-adding the 10" that you removed...and hope the other 2 don't gang up on him.

If you were to take the new oscar out of the big tank untill it healed, then it would get beat up again when reintroduced. IMO your best bet is to let the new one establish itself then reintroduce the old one (like you said). Also, you might try putting tall fake plants in the middle of the tank to block the line of sight. This way they don't have to stare at each other all day.

The 15'' oscar is in the 500 with the silver aro, stingrays, and the 9'' oscar. The 9'' oscar is not giving him problems.

I think the best way to go is heal the 15'' oscar up and and re arange the wood work. And when he is healed up, add the bully back in. I am going to try and find more common oscars to add in when I add the bully back in as well.

If you have the space adding more oscars will help, try to go with 5-6. The danger with 3 is you could have 2 pair up.

I think what you have done is the best option...

Just keep a close eye on it all - my bully has killed 2 O's already.
