Need some suggestions on fish?

I got two questions.

first is what kind of pleco should i get for my cichlid tank?

and for my shelly tank im creating at the moment i need to make a wish list for my LFS to order. Right now they only have dwarf cockatoo cichlids for $5 but i dont even think those are real shell dwellers. so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for some real interesting shell dwellers. ive never kept them before so i want to get something good and fun.

now i already got a couple of the basics down like:
-neolamprologus multifasciatus
-lamprologus ocellatus
-neolamprologus brevis
-lamprologus stappersi (really like this one but dont know if its real rare or much about it.)

so im just looking for ideas or suggestions on this. O! and thell be in a 30g with lots of shells.
 
I'd go with occies, they seem to have a lot of energy and spunk. As for the pleco, I'd go with some bristlenose, but not a big fan of pleco in Tang tanks
 
i have ocellatus and there real intersting little fish to watch.youll never believe the blue shine they get once there in your tank for a bit. when there in the store it does them no justice. provide tons of shells and a nice deep fine sand substrate and your good to go. also think about possibly getting an interesting surface dweller to go in with them.
 
Ocellatus all the way. The way their head looks is really cool, sorta like a mudskipper. I use to have vampire and golden nugget plecos with my shellies. Its a good mix cause those 2 plecos are lazy and don't bother anyone.
 
altolamprologus comps? or are there a different kind of comp. for shelly? and the pleco is for my malawi tank. is bristlenose still the best?
 
Occies will bite the bristles off there nose if they get too close! I use peppermint plecos because they are dwarf small and they are clean (for a pleco). They are about $20 but they are very pretty, kind of like a mini gold nugget pleco with white dots instead of gold. Clown plecos are dwarves too and clean pretty well, just not as great looking but they are cheap. I am too though not a big fan of plecos with tangs. different worlds, I always feel bad for the plecs.
