One of my favorite, and first guppies has a few white spots on him. Is possible at all it's anything else besides ich. He's still hungry and isn't rubbing against anything. Sadly if it is Ich, I don't have a quarantine tank setup so I'd have to put him down, or maybe he could spend the night in the turtle tank (since the lights are off now)

Could I wait until tomorrow morning and see if anything improves, or should I act now and do the dirty work.

PS: I have work tomorrow, and shrimp in my tank so anti biotics are a no go.

The blue guy in the back.

I'm going to put him down, I can't risk my whole tank on one fish.

U said ur fav nd first guppy, U dont need a special quarentine tank for a single small guppy... Use a 5 gallon bucket or tub or anything that holds water which is non-toxic and treate him...

That is a dumb idea. If that fish has ich its already in the system. A quarantine is a good before treatment but once in the display tank you have to treat the entire display. Raise temp slowly to 86 and add salt and a airpump or go buy ich medicine.

My fish life is sparked up with Polys :)

Yeah its already in your tank. M redfin pickerel got ic really bad. his whole back was covored in it. I raised the water temp to speed up the process and added copper medicine and salt. I know that isnt an option with your shrimp but maybe you could use salt. My pickerel is fine now and none of my other fish caught it. That is the reason i catch my own feeders instead of buying them now.

I had already put him down, but I'm using all this advice now for the future and trying to improve "operations."

If I had put him in a bucket, would I have needed another heater? The only other heater I have is a stealth, which I don't want to use because I don't want it to blow up. Also, even if I had put him in a bucket, I wouldn't have been able to treat the tank until late tomorrow night after I get home from work.

Will Salt hurt: Rainbows, Rasboras, Tetras, Bamboo Shrimp, Ghost Shrimp, SAE and Rabbit Snails?

PS, I haven't added anything new for about a month, besides a Red Rainbow, which I had my friend quaruntine. I did a water change a week ago, which went well as usual.

I'm going to keep a very close eye on everyone for the next few days.
